Buy and wear a corset

My local newspaper recently had an article catching my interest so I decided to click and read it.  It was about how a Victorian-era fashion item is making a comeback.

Apparently, women in pursuit of a smaller waist size are once again donning a corset to get the job done; at least from a visual perspective.

Yes summer weather has come and gone so skimpy attire exposing one’s midsection or the lack of it is now hibernating in closets across America.  This is a sigh of relief for both portly middle-aged women, and men, who are now doing their fall and winter business of looking good, shall we say undercover-style.

Reading further into the article, I’m told that corset-wearing is on an uptick of sorts thanks to certain celebrities, some of whom have their battle of the bulge challenges just like us.

And, I’ve learned, some women are delving into waist training by wearing corsets.  Supposedly medical doctors are warning against it because of potential digestive problems and shortness of breath these fashion-tourniquets may cause.

Come to think of it, I’ve seen a few doctors who would do themselves some visual appearance good by strapping one around their waist.

Fashion trends come and go and this middle-aged man thinks corset-wearing will be one that will be no different.  How long its in-vogue status will last is anyone’s guess.  As far as I’m concerned, this is all I’ll think and say about them.

But I have one final suggestion for my fellow pus-gut middle-aged men who want some private waist circumference relief.

Some of these fatso fellows live in constant fear of their pant’s fastening button explosively popping and flying through space capable of landing and causing serious physical harm to those innocent bystanders happening to be within damage range.

They’ll be able to live in comfort and not fear knowing they’re no longer a public safety danger while finding delight in all the compliments they’ll receive about their shiny and new 32-inch appearing waist; if they buy and wear a corset.

Pax Domini sit semper vobiscum
